Building a Balanced Plate

In 2011, USDA made the switch from promoting the food pyramid to the “ChooseMyPlate” initiative.

MyPlate shows us how to include a variety of nutrients into each meal as a way to promote a balanced plate. This helps to ensure we are receiving the benefits that each nutrient provides.
