This is not your grandma’s chicken salad--- it’s better. Here’s why:
It’s healthy! Traditional chicken salad uses mayonnaise, which although delicious, can add up to a lot of fat and calories. Mayonnaise carries 200 calories, 22 grams of fat, and only 2 grams of protein per 2 tablespoons. This salad uses Greek yogurt- a healthier swap with the same creamy deliciousness- at a fraction of the calories. For the same amount of plain non-fat Greek yogurt, it’s 20 calories, 0 fat, and 8 grams of protein. High protein and low-fat? Yes, please!
It’s tangy! Greek yogurt offers that unique tangy flavor that compliments the profile of the salad. You know you’re salivating just thinking about that yogurty zing paired with tart apples, sweet grapes, earthy nuts, and salty chicken… you can’t go wrong.
It’s trendy! Mayonnaise chicken salad is so 1960s… Using non-fat plain Greek yogurt puts a trendy, modern spin on this timeless favorite. Serve the salad in a new-age way by sandwiching it between a unique toasted bread, mini bagels, a flatbread, or colorful assortment of whole-grain crackers. So fun that even grandma will approve!
